Writing

Here is a selection of the writing I've done over the past few years.  These express my earliest avenues into semi-professional writing, with a number of these being submitted to newsletters for publication.

Grainy Surface

Aphellion World Bible

This is the world bible I have been writing for my Aphellion world building project.  At current, it contains in-depth details of every aspect of the world, and is still being added onto today.

Tales of the Realm
A Merchant's Walk

A Merchant's Walk is a short story based within Aphellion, following a merchant making his way towards a city.  This story serves to set the stage for the world, and tease some of its locations.

The Joys of Madness

The Joys of Madness is a short story I wrote that focuses around a scientist abandoned on a space station, trapped with a monster that is far beyond his, or anyone's understanding.  This story was my first attempt at a more long form type of storytelling through a first person perspective.  This story also focuses around short form storytelling, in which I only hinted at a farther lore in the goal of further peaking questions and interest in the reader.

A Walk Down Broadway

A Walk Down Broadway is a memoir written about my first trip to New York following my acceptance to NYIT.  The purpose of the memoir was to show the spectacle I witnessed first entering the city, compared to the small town kind of life that I had been accustomed to at the time.

The Newest Next Step

The Newest Next Step is another short story, this one centering around a circumvention of expectations around the far future of humanity, and its delivery through the text.  Instead of things being wildly different with the advent of future tech, everything basically stays the same.

The Hell They Made

The Hell They Made is a poem about the last man on earth being watched by god as he walks for an eternity though the blasted heaps of earth.  It is an experiment in alternate storytelling methods, and in how chancing the method and formatting of the delivery can have a different impact on a person.

Mini Stories

This is a collection of various mini-stories that were created through an experiment to see how short of a prose and prompt could be use to still effectively tell a story.
