My name is Simon Forsythe Henry Barnes.
Welcome to Paradise.
Why I Do What I Do
I've been invested into the art of story-craft for as long as I've had the ability to understand the concept. It is a tool to understand and cultivate realties beyond our own, to step outside the realm of the mundane and expected and seek out greater sights only known through the eyes of the surreal and sublime. Growing up in a small farming town in Connecticut, that was all I really had. The ability to imagine things beyond myself. World crafted in the fabric of wonder and awe, yet cruelly trapped within the confines of my own mind. So, I started to write them out. I brought my dreams to life in every form I could, and I haven't stopped in 12 years.

At 17 I left my hometown and moved to New York to pursue my dream in creating video games and get a degree in Computer Science at the New York Institute of Technology. Following a year, I decided to change my path towards one of pure creation, and went back to take a major in General Studies at Asnuntuck Community College, where I graduated having made the Dean's List every full time semester I attended. Following this, I moved back to New York to attend Pratt Institute in their Game Design Major, in which I have made the President's List for every semester.

I'm a story writer, a narrative designer, a world builder, and a game designer. I've explored every medium of story creation that has been available to me, ranging from short stories to video games and animations. As I've progressed through life I've adapted further to the tools of the trade, learning whatever I could to further bring my visions into creation, and have grown acquainted with many of the tools most commonly used in doing this. These include, but are not limited to; 3D game development programs such as Unity and Unreal, text based development programs such as Twine, 3D modeling software's like Maya and Blender, animation software's like Adobe Animate, After Effects, and Source Film Maker, and several Adobe software's including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

As a creative, I only see the ultimate, final, and culminative value of the experience. The ability to translate images, sounds, and words into something beyond themselves. To push them into a greater realm that surpasses the baseness of our natural reality. To this, I find great pleasure in exploring what mediums of entertainment best suit this. Virtual Reality, Video Games, Books, Playwriting, Movies, I've engaged in all of these. Most often I'm exploring the newest feature in horror or world building, delving myself into the material and immersing myself into the content. Few things are better than finding true immersion into a well crafted world, and its in this that I find my pursuit.
My one goal is to bring my dreams and nightmares into reality for all to witness, and I shall do as such until I no longer can.
